Grants

We will follow through with a donation of $200 to the Cedar Rapids flooded area. Specifically to Gail Naughton (former Dubuque old house enthusiast), director there for the Czech Museum. Lynda Derks has made the initial contact & we will ask her to check back & coordinate the donation.
The Step by Step not for profit, 501(c)(3), charitable organization 759 Bluff Street was discussed with the need of restoring the front porch.
More information needs to be gathered if in fact we want to donate 2 nice benches outside the back of City Hall where people gather for Farmer’s Market. This may be a project to focus on with this coming year’s tour. We’ll leave that final decision up to the Tour Committee.

Four Mounds Antiques & Appraisal Fair 10-4 Sat. Sept. 13. Kyle Husfloen guest appraiser. Volunteers needed.
The Dubuque Co. Historical Society is looking for ideas for their Ryan House property. According to them, they can no longer afford to keep it. It may slip into private hands in the near future. Letters to the Editor were encouraged.
